I truly cannot wait to talk to you. I loved reading your thinking behind your Insta -- it's generous and inspiring. I need a strategy and a mind-shift and I keep struggling because I MADE MY CAREER IN ADVERTISING AND IT RUINED ME (and alas, this is also what my book in progress is about?!), so I keep losing the thread, losing the fun and the curiosity and creativity around it. Great strategy! Many years ago, I had fun making a website for my fictional novelist who mysteriously disappeared in my second novel. Even made the book covers of her non-existing novels. Received emails from readers about not being able to find the books in their library or store.
I loveee this and thank you for the tag! I've been cracking up at your posts and as you know I think you're beyond brilliant. One of my favorite "bits" / campaigns ever was this one for the rapper Vince Staples, he had a new song and is known for talking shit and so they started a GoFundMe where if he raised $2mil he would retire early "shut the fuck up forever" lol. Obviously it went super viral and ended up boosting the song, and that's the kind of launch / promotion strategy I'm into. Here's to us all having more fun on social media !!
